(2003) Arrgh! At last it is finished... did the scketh two years ago! Yes, yes... the whole pic is tilted to the left... I know! :) Anyway... it's a new kind of alien arriving to the planet Riyxx. An Isiahn and a human are there to greet them... Woohoo! A new better scanned version!

Marika,
I'm an artist and I'm currently involved in a lot of commissioned mask-making for people. To satisfy all tastes, I surf the net a lot looking for interesting subjects to make into masks if they should ask.
Your alien's face has the potential to become such, and very stunningly so. I know a few people that would probably pick it.
No guarantee I should ever use it, but I wanted to let you know and ask first if I could add it to my morgue (reference gallery).
Just leave a reply to this post or leave me an e-mail with the subject "arrival".
Christina

:-) Marika Viklund replies: "Hi! I'm flattered that you'd like to make it into a mask, however I'll have to say; No, you may not use it. Unless, of course, you'd be willing to pay for it. Mail me about it! /Marika"

Like most artists here, I can't afford to do that. I can't pay for something that may never be used, and might sit around in my reference pages doing nada. I can think of something myself for free, I was just impressed by your work and thought to give you credit and the knowledge that someone likes it enough to wear/make a mask of it.
So I'm sorry I can't give you money for it, but you can trust me that I won't use it. If I was going to steal your idea I could have done so without asking, and I hope/wish everyone else would pay out the same respect.
Keep up the good work)
Christina

Very nice. I like it. I'm curious, those look like elevator buttons. Is this his spaceship, or is it an elevator or airlock that connects? Just curious.
Cool characters you have there.

6 Marika Viklund replies: "Sort of airlock thingy! Supposed to make the doors go up and down!! I'm proud of my aliens! Thanx! "

You do great shading, just that it's pale. I'd advise going back to your sketches and tracing the lines and darkening the shading. Other than that, great pic! It's very futuristic (I $uck at that. My lack of tech-y-ness even carries over to my drawing.) Also, you kept he skeletal and muscle structures realistic, which is where so many other people go wrong.

1 Marika Viklund replies: "Once again, thank you! Really glad you liked this one... not many seems to do that! Yes I know... my best friend says that about my shadings too. Too light and too little contrasts! Heh, I'm not very tec' either... that's why I don't do much sci-fi! Oh, and I allways try to be as realistic as I can! Glad you thought it looked so!"

Wow, This is amazing! It would look amazing if you turned the contrast up a notch, but the way the shading of the lights and darks are in comparason to eachother is just perfect that it still looks fine as it is. *pats you on the back* very good work indeed 2

1 Marika Viklund replies: "Thank you very much! I'm so glad you liked this one! Sorry about the late reply, I missed this comment for some reason! I'm working on getting better at contrasts... so that in the future, there shall be no grey pictures!! *points finger triumphantly at the sky... well, the roof anyway*"

How could I have missed your stuff? Great pic!

:-) Marika Viklund replies: "Very easy! Many people on EW and I don’t update too often! ^^ Thanx for the comment! Glad you like this one, it gets so few comments! "
