(2007) Acrylics. As the title says... it's an alien head. An Old One to be precise, from Lovecrafts stories, and this is how I imagine them to look like. This is only a closeup on the head as the painting is not finished yet. I'm working on that, if I'm really fast it'll be finished this weekend. Lets cross our fingers, eh? What do you think? :)

It's really cool...I like it. I wonder why I got the notification saying you had uploaded a new image, though? It shows this one has been up for at least a month...Hmmmmmmm *ponders emails and such* I like it, though. I'm glad it's a detailed image of the head. I think it should have gotten a Mod's Choice like the other one. I'm guessing I need to read these stories. 1 They sound interesting.

1 Marika Viklund replies: "Thank you very much! The notification was probably since I replaced this one with a new version. I hadn't painted the body before and so the light brown of the paper showed under the head. It's almost all done now... hoping for a Mods Choise on the finished full-body picture! Best painting I've ever done! The stories are interesting, go read and join the Lovecraft fans! "

I’ve never read any of those stories, but it looks like the author knew how to make up interesting creatures. Nice work!

:-) Marika Viklund replies: "Yeah, he’s really good at making up alien aliens so to speak. 1 Very good reading too. If one likes horror and dark tales. 12 Even though they ain’t very scary. Apart from a few. Anyway, this is my favourite of his aliens. They look really unique I think! 2 Thanx for commenting!"
